Visit Bordeaux vineyards

Be it for beginners or connoisseurs, Bordeaux is one of our most popular destinations for wine tasting trips and experiences! I can offer a wide range of tours to suit all tastes and budgets.

When is it the best time of year to visit Bordeaux’s vineyards? When temperatures start warming up mid-April. Avoid some periods as the ‘Primeurs’ (1st week April) because châteaux are very busy with their futures tastings to the professionals; avoid as well mid-June in odd years to avoid the 400,000 visitors of the world wine trade Vinexpo. The best time is from around the flowering period of the vine end of May to mid July. August is usually hot and it is holiday time, most people are on holiday and many wineries might be closed. End of September is very busy time and producers start to prepare for the harvest but is a good time to visit as temperatures are less hot and atmosphere starts to be very exciting before harvest. Harvest often starts first days of October. Producers will be very busy but it is the most interesting time to visit if you can. It starts getting cold mid November so visiting wineries is not that much fun, but if you are really wine lovers, you can deal with it.

You would like to visit a wine chateau/vineyard around Bordeaux but you are a bit confused about the best way to find out what is available and how to arrange your wine trip?

I would be glad to be your guide and help you to open the doors of wineries depending on your taste and expectations. The Bordeaux region is sliced into sub-regions with 65 different "appellations" (vine growing areas delimited by the law).

The price variation is affected by local micro-climates and soils/sub-soils specifities but the most important point in variations of prices is the classification system which is often not very transparent... Gain a deep understanding of the region's famous appellations from the soils, to the wine making process and the (sometimes) confusing classification systems.
